Braun Prize 2005

BloodValve is a medical device that simplifies the process of selecting, attaching and handling vials during the blood-drawing process. With the cost of specimen collection errors reaching $200,000 per year or more in large hospitals, BloodValve provides a new way for phlebotomists to draw blood more safely, reducing errors, increasing efficiency and improving quality of patient care.

Since 1968, the BraunPrize has aimed to promote design from all over the world, to value the work of design schools and to develop an appreciation for good product design. In doing so, it seeks to provide a link between designers and industry or potential clients.
