Steve devotes his work to humanizing technology by translating user needs into viable products, platforms, and policy. Currently, as a Presidential Innovation Fellow, he is helping the Federal Bureau of Investigation take a more user-centric approach to solving challenges in national security, private sector engagement, and the modernization of FBI technology and policy. Previously, at design consultancies Doblin and IA Collaborative, he worked across a range of sectors including technology, consumer goods, city innovation, and health care. Steve has taught human-centered design and public-private partnerships at Northwestern University, American University, and CEDIM Design School in Mexico, and he was in Emerging Leaders Program at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Design from the IIT Institute of Design.
