Career Support
Career Support
Designed to expand your career opportunities.
At the Institute of Design at Illinois Tech, we offer career development support starting on day one. Once enrolled, our students stack their resumes—gaining practical experiences through internships and assistantships, as well as hands-on classes. With our broad focus on business and social innovation, ID has a singular understanding of what organizations are looking for when recruiting talent. We also help make the connections that create opportunity, with a vast alumni network actively recruiting from within the greater ID community.

Career Services & Experiences

Organizations hire our students as interns, externs, and research assistants to work on a variety of projects, from improving healthcare delivery systems to discovering the future of the workplace.
From defining requirements, to analysis and co-design workshops, sponsored classes allow students to work directly with organizations on challenging issues.
We offer a number of events to help students and alumni connect to industry leaders and polish their career skills.
ID alum and Associate Director of Career Services Peter Zapf hosts the career workshop series and helps students prepare for their careers with resume reviews and mock interviews.
Our engaged alumni network of 2400+ is spread out across the globe and actively recruits our graduates to a multitude of roles and industry sectors.
Students and alumni have the opportunity to connect with Illinois Tech Career Services for resume consultations and interview preparation.
