Denis Weil and Matt Mayfield Discuss Their She Ji Article

December 18, 2020

ID faculty join other design educators in recorded discussion

ID Dean Denis Weil and Associate Dean Matt Mayfield outlined the redesigned MDes curriculum at ID in the Summer 2020 issue of She Ji: The Journal of Design, Economics, and Innovation.

They discuss their ideas on the topics of diversity, advocacy, what makes for ‘good design’ and good design students, and design as a professional practice in a recorded discussion hosted by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Nowadays we live in the intangible economy. The same is true for skills. Designers need intangible skills and tangible skills. We believe intangible skills are the more important ones, because they are about mindset and approach.
—Denis Weil
