Recruiting + Talent

Corporations, as well as governmental and nonprofit organizations, actively seek out our students and graduates. In fact, our placement rate is above 90 percent within three months of graduation.

recruitID, a two-day event where students and employers meet, interview, and discuss, is one of our most popular and successful events.

What is recruitID?

Originally founded by ID students, recruitID is now a virtual experience matching best-fit organizations with ID students through meaningful discussions and 1:1 interviews.

Similar to a career fair, this biannual recruiting event offers a range of benefits for employers and recruiters:

  • Interview candidates for open full-time and internship positions.
  • Host info sessions to discuss your organization or a topic of special interest.
  • Discuss the latest trends and thinking in design and business.
  • Build professional networks and cultivate relationships with colleagues and the ID community.

How does it work?

Companies can host up to three informational roundtable sessions with ID students. Roundtables are a great way to get to know our students while sharing information about your organization and the role of design within it. Employers can also post open positions, view ID applicants, and select candidates to interview.

Why hire from ID?

ID alumni are experts in design strategy who lead across the private and public sectors—at Amazon and Apple, McDonald’s and McKinsey, Whirlpool and the White House.

  • ID students are trained to solve complex problems.
Our constantly evolving curriculum ensures the graduates are professionally trained to solve today’s most difficult problems.
  • ID is your source for experts in design strategy.
Institute of Design graduates lead strategy, research, and user experience design at organizations like Google, Facebook, IDEO, Salesforce, IA Collaborative, GE, McKinsey, Lunar, Autodesk, Doblin, Uber, SAP, Method, Steelcase, IBM, Capital One, UnitedHealth Group, and more.
  • ID students think responsibly, ethically, and cooperatively.
Our students are dedicated to building intelligent futures using design and have experience in pushing the boundaries of applied design in the civic and social sectors.
  •  ID students have begun building their resumes long before graduation.
At ID, lectures and seminars complement hands-on workshops. Our partnerships with organizations provide students with a range of experience—they're actually stacking their resumes while they're enrolled.

We recruit ID grads because of their human-centered perspective, their systems thinking abilities, their talent for making sense of deep complexity, and their ability to visualize concepts that can be scaled over time.”
