We invite you to join us for an evening cocktail reception with students and faculty, campus tours, and information on how you can join our graduate program. We welcome prospective students and the curious to learn more about IIT Institute of Design and our role in the design community today. Dinesh Goburdhun (MDes 1996), an Institute of Design adjunct will speak as part of the event on how he came to ID and where his education has led.










Dinesh Goburdhun   About Dinesh
Dinesh has been a strategist, writer and designer for nearly 18 years, working primarily in digital experiences, brand strategy and innovation. At R/GA, he is Executive Creative Director, where he leads the Experience Design, Visual Design, Copywriting and Social teams in creating digital products, services and campaigns. Prior to R/GA, Dinesh held senior positions at prominent design and consulting firms in Chicago, Boston and San Francisco, most recently at VSA Partners and gravitytank, both in Chicago. Dinesh’s clients have spanned a range of industries, and include such global brands as IBM,Google, Motorola, Samsung, Microsoft, Thomson Reuters, Unilever and BMW. Dinesh received his Master's Degree in Design Planning from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, where he is an adjunct faculty member. He has also lectured at the Pratt Institute in New York and at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley; and advises both Openlands, an urban conservation organization, and the Chicago Humanities Festival on marketing and communications issues.

Student stories


Gaurav Bradoo (MDes 2016) will share his internship experience at Logitech and how the courses, relationships, and experiences at ID helped him navigate the real world of design this past summer.


Tara Flippin (MDes 2016) has background in economics and relationship management in financial services. Sarah Norell (MDes 2016) has a background in sociology and fine arts. Sarah and Tara will share work in progress from Jeremy Alexis's faculty research workshop with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This semester's project focuses on best practices for customer service strategy in a health care setting.
