2016 Spring Open House

February 17, 2016
5:30-7:30pm CST
IIT Institute of Design, 6th floor
350 N LaSalle St
Chicago, IL 60654

IIT Institute of Design students have the opportunity to solve real business problems, learn the fundamentals of design in a single foundation year, conduct research around the world with our global immersion program, and join a close-knit network of alumni in leadership roles at innovative organizations. You could too.

A great way to know if ID is right for you to meet the community. We invite you to join us for an evening cocktail reception, short presentations featuring students and faculty, campus tours, and information on how you can join our transcultural graduate program. We welcome prospective students and the curious to learn more about IIT Institute of Design and our role in the design community today.

RSVP to our open house where faculty and alumni will share the start-up stories of Vamonde and Filigree Suppers and how their experience at ID helped them get to launch.

About Jun and Vamonde

Junyoung Yang (MDes + MBA 2011) has had experience in both the corporate world (Samsung) and in the start up (Peapod Labs). Most recently, Jun joined a new start up, Vamonde, founded by ID professor Anijo Mathew. Jun will speak on the adventure of building a platform for adventure and how his experience at the Institute of Design fit into the process.

About Elise and Filigree

Elise Metzger (MDes 2011) is communication designer and brand creative for Brainlab and the co-founder of Filigree Suppers, a pop-up dinner series. She has worked in the areas of retail environments, event design, consumer package goods, housewares and currently, healthcare technology. With Filigree Suppers, she brings together themes that bridge food and design, and uses the events as a platform for local makers to experiment with their craft. Elise received her BFA in Architecture and Design from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst, 2004 and her Master of Design from the Institute of Design at IIT, 2011. She will talk about the value of side projects, incorporating a passion project into every day life, and the options on how to perceive your career path after ID.
