Today we are living in the space of uncertainty and ambiguity—between the depths of the pandemic but not yet post-pandemic, between the “before times” and establishing a new normal.
Design thrives in these spaces of ambiguity, what we call The Space Between. At ID, we learn to navigate The Space Between—between engineering and art, between problem and solution, between idea and innovation. It is in The Space Between that our opportunity to shape the future resides.
Join us for ID’s 2022 End of Year Show (EOYS), an exhibition of student work from the Institute of Design (ID) at Illinois Tech from the 2021–22 school year. For the first time ever, EOYS will be both in-person and online, providing a glimpse of the innovative ideas that emerge from ID. Friday, May 13 is opening night, where we’ll celebrate the accomplishments of ID's hardworking students with food and drink.
In-person attendees must bring proof of vaccination. You may also visit us online at eoys.design for an immersive digital experience that will launch May 13 at 6p.
Unable to join in-person? Check out our Instagram Live Takeover on our channel @iitdesign from 6:45pm until 8pm on May 13. Five students—Parker Joyner, Yong Shan Lee, Rosanna Lederhausen, Emmanuella Ben-Eboh, and Adelyn Soetyono—will each share projects from the show from their own perspectives. About the Institute of Design (ID)
The Institute of Design (ID) at Illinois Tech was founded in Chicago by Bauhaus émigré László Moholy-Nagy in 1937. It has since pioneered human-centered design, systems design, and a methods-based approach to design. Today ID is home to the only US design school devoted completely to graduate students—the first US school to offer the PhD in design.
