In the Loop: Pete Wendel

Thinking Differently to Affect Quality of Life

Pete Wendel will focus on how the design of games and user interfaces enables products, systems, and services to be engaging, fun, and motivating experiences for the people who play them. The act of designing games and user interfaces, with and for people, functions as a new way to understand how people create meaning, motivate others, and improve their quality of life.

This presentation will be a brief but unique exploration into game and user interface design, including Walgreens’ Steps with Balance Rewards program. We will define what game and user interface design is, how it applies to people’s quality of life, and why this matters now (to patients, providers, caregivers, and the communities they are part of).
