A Platform for Integrated Community Centers
Originally developed in the 19th Century as "settlement houses," early centers were grounded in a single building where immigrant or low income families could find advice, encouragement, health care, child care, job training, and often very much more, all delivered in a package of general empathy. How can we build on this idea for our future context?
Using a systems thinking method called structured planning, students explored the conception of an integrated community center platform that will address community issues like vulnerability, safety, education, and opportunity.
Join professors Vijay Kumar and John Pipino and their students for the final presentation of their work.
