Experts discuss the role of design in in our lives for the past 85 years and what it means for where design is headed next.

From the Dove soap bar to a more inclusive work environment, ID @85: 85 Years of Making the Future is an exhibition of 85 artifacts demonstrating ID’s historic role in shaping our everyday and beyond since October 19, 1937. Todd Cooke (MDes + MBA 2020), Ashley Lukasik, producer of the documentary The New Bauhaus, Tanner Woodford, Executive Director of the Design Museum of Chicago and Curator of ID@85, and Alec Nevala-Lee, author of Inventor of the Future: The Visionary Life of Buckminster Fuller (HarperCollins, August 2022), discuss ID’s legacy and what it means for our future.
